Rihanna. The Council of Fashion Designers of America has just revealed that the songstress/sartorial risk taker will be honored with the 2014 Fashion Icon Award at this year’s ceremony, which takes place on June 2 in New York City. From her ever-changing hairstyles and envelope-pushing outfit choices to her philanthropic work with MAC Cosmetics’ Viva Glam campaign, the Barbadian singer’s award is, in my opinion, well-deserved.

How does CFDA CEO Steven Kolb feel about the announcement? “We are proud to present Rihanna with the CFDA Fashion Icon Award for her impact on the industry as fashion’s most exciting ambassador in recent memory,” he said.

Clearly, he and I are on the same RiRi-loving page. The only question remaining: What will she wear to the ceremony?
