Apperian

Boston based Apperian, a provider of cloud-based mobile application management for the enterprise that recently raised $9.5 million, has appointed Brian Day as CFO, Alan Murray as SVP Products, and Patrick Welch as VP Sales. From the release:

“Brian Day brings to Apperian 20+ years of experience in financial and operational functions with special strengths in customer, partner and investor relations, contract negotiating and general management activities. He joins the company from Goal.com, where he was CFO, and held prior financial and general management positions with venture-backed startups, including SiCortex, Inc., Gomez, Inc. and Octave Communications. … Alan Murray has spent 20 years designing and bringing to market innovative software solutions. Before joining Apperian, Murray was VP, Product Marketing at Novell, where he oversaw the company’s Systems and Resource Management and Identity Security and Management units. … Patrick Welch has more than 16 years experience building sales teams at startups. Prior to Apperian, he was senior vice president for worldwide sales at Aveksa where he helped the company grow by more than 5,000 percent over a 4-year period. He also held sales management and business development positions at Netegrity, where he helped grow sales to more than $100 million.”

Boston Scientific

Boston Scientific has announced that its President and CEO Ray Elliott is retiring as of December 31, 2011. The company’s Board is seeking a new President and CEO in the interim. From the release:

Celtra

Cambridge based Celtra, the provider of the industry’s first self-service platform for rich media advertising and analytics across mobile devices, has appointed David George as COO, Grant Stratemeyer as VP Business Development, and Sarah Fay to its Board of Directors. From the release:

“David brings over 20 years of successful experience building sales, marketing, business development, services and business operations globally for digital media based companies such as KickApps, Maven Networks, and eBay. … Grant brings years of relevant experience working with these partners while at Yahoo and Maven Networks. Most recently, Grant was responsible for Yahoo’s agency channel and while at Maven Networks, he built and managed the agency and partner business driving a significant amount of revenue for the company. … Sarah brings years of media experience to the company along with tremendous knowledge about scaling organizations to meet the digital needs of major advertisers. Sarah was the CEO of Aegis Media, North America; CEO of Isobar, where she launched Isobar Mobile; and President of Carat Interactive. She is a respected industry thought leader and is known for leading the marketplace in the adoption new media models, including digital media, when it first emerged, Search Engine Marketing, Social Media, and Mobile Marketing.”

Caisson Data Center

Natick based Caisson Data Center Services, which is opening a tier III data center in Boston’s Metro West, has appointed its co-founder Karl Robohm into its COO position. From the release:

“In this role, Robohm is leading the design and development of Caisson’s 120,000 sq. ft. Tier III colocation facility in Natick, Massachusetts. Phase I will be 16,500 sq. ft. of concurrently maintainable data center space and is expected to come online in Q4 of 2011. Robohm is an expert in designing, developing and managing the operations of mission critical data centers, both at Internap Network Services as well as through his consulting work with enterprises at Transitional Data Services. Karl has directed and coordinated large efforts throughout his 25+ year career in data center site selection, facility design / build, data center efficiency and operations.”

Dunkin’ Donuts

Coming off from its IPO announcement, Canton based Dunkin’ Donuts has created a new position for and appointed Neal Yanofsky as President of International. From the release:

“An experienced food service and retail industry executive, Yanofsky will be responsible for strategically building the Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins brands outside the United States and for delivering a consistent, but culturally relevant, brand experience to the Company’s international customers. Yanofsky joins Dunkin’ Brands from Generation Mobile, a venture-backed retailer of wireless products and services that operates in more than 20 states, where he served as Chief Executive Officer.  Prior to Generation Mobile, he served as President of Panera Bread where he helped more than double the number of that company’s restaurants during his five years with the company. Earlier in his career, Yanofsky served as Vice President of Fidelity Ventures, the private equity arm of Fidelity Investments, where he started and ran a group investing in early-stage growth companies.  He also served as Chief Marketing Officer at Au Bon Pain during their period of most rapid growth.

RAMP

Woburn based RAMP, the industry’s leading Content Optimization platform for major online media publishers, has appointed Raymond Lau, PhD as Chief Technology Officer and Joe Lichtman as VP Managed Services. From the release:

“Dr. Lau joined RAMP in 2008 as Vice President of Technology responsible for the company’s R&D efforts around its core intellectual property and 21 patents. In his new role as Chief Technology Officer, Ray responsibilities now include management of RAMP’s engineering and product development efforts as well as the 24×7 operation of RAMP’s Software as a Service environment. Prior to RAMP, he was a senior technology lead for IBM’s Content Discovery Services group, which acquired iPhrase Technologies, Inc., a company Ray co-founded. … Joe Lichtman joined RAMP in 2010 as Director of Technical Sales and has managed all of RAMP sales engineering efforts in landing many of its major media customers including NBC, Comcast, Fox, Reuters, and more. Joe was also instrumental in launching RAMP’s successful Managed Services offering. With over 10 years of experience in technology, Joe has held leadership positions in several technology companies. Prior to joining RAMP, he held product management positions at Microsoft and FAST Search & Transfer, where he was responsible for product strategy and marketing for the Media market segment.”

Zixi

Waltham based Zixi, the leading enabler of flawless broadcast-quality HDTV globally over the cloud, has appointed Mr. F.A. “Fran” Dramis to its Advisory Board. From the release:
