Apperian

Boston based Apperian, a provider of cloud-based mobile application management for the enterprise, has appointed Carlos Montero-Luque Senior Vice President, Engineering. From the release:

Montero-Luque brings to Apperian an extensive background in engineering. He joins the company from Novell, where he held several positions, including Vice President, Business and Product Management for SUSE Linux; Chief Technical Officer for Security and Identity Management; and Vice President, Engineering, for the ZENworks product suite.”

Cynosure

Westford based Cynosure, a leader in laser- and light-based treatments for minimally invasive and non-invasive aesthetic applications, has elected Babson College’s former President, Brian M. Barefoot, to its Board of Directors. From the release:

Barefoot, 68, becomes the fourth independent director on Cynosure’s seven-member board, filling a vacancy. He will serve on the Company’s Audit and Corporate Governance committees. Currently, Barefoot serves on the board of directors of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, where he is Chair of the Audit Committee and a member of the Finance and Business Performance Committee.  In addition, he is a director of Array Health Solutions Inc., a health care technology and services company based in Seattle; and a senior advisor to Carl Marks & Co. LP, aNew York-based middle market merchant bank.”

Everyday Solutions

Acton based Everyday Solutions, the leading provider of integrated solutions for managing School Transportation Information, has appointed Woody Fitzmaurice as Business Development Executive. From the release:

Boston based Liberty Mutual Group announced that David H. Long will become President and Chief Executive Officer, effective June 29, 2011. Current CEO Edmund F. Kelly will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board. From the release:

Mzinga

Waltham based Mzinga, a leader in social intelligence solutions, services and analytics for business, has appointed Ira Cohen as Vice President, Channel Revenue. From the release:

Most recently, Cohen served as an independent consultant for Pegasystems, the industry leader in business process management where he defined opportunities to increase revenue through indirect channels. Prior to Pegasystems, he was vice president of business and corporate development for WebLayers, where he launched a strategic channels program that included partnerships IBM, HP and Oracle. Cohen was also VP Channels and Strategic Partnerships at Segue Software, where he was instrumental in signing major channel partnerships in 10 countries and increased revenues by more than $4M. Earlier in his career, he was a co-founder of Copley Systems Corporation, CEO of Aternity Software and Chief Operating Officer at Datatrend Services and Aztec Technology Partners.”

Polaris Venture Partners

Boston based Polaris Venture Partners has promoted Jason Trevisan to General Partner after having joined the firm in 2003. From the release:

As an investor and board member, Trevisan has been instrumental in Polaris’ lead investments in LegalZoom and ShoeDazzle, among others. He focuses on both growth equity and early stage tech investing, with a particular focus in consumer Internet, social commerce, SaaS and consumer healthcare. Boston based Visible Measures, an independent third-party media measurement firm for online video advertisers and publishers, has appointed Paul Botto (formerly Head of Google Analytics Sales/Enterprise) as General Manager of its analytics and measurement businesses. From the release:

Botto joins Visible Measures from Brickfish, a social media marketing company, where he was Vice President of Sales. Prior to Brickfish, Botto was Head of Sales and Enterprise for Google Analytics, where he managed an extended team of hundreds to deliver data consultation, consultative ad sales, and product support that increased Google ad sales by more than $2 billion. Before Google, Botto was Business Development Manager at Urchin Software, the industry-leading Web analytics company that was acquired by Google in 2005.”
