Since last week, Apple’s develop center has experienced an outage due to a breach in security involving unknown hackers. Yesterday, Apple updates its developer site with a statement expressing their apologies as well as an outline to how the company plans to restore functionality.

Currently, iTunes Connect is the only Apple service still listed as online, but Apple says per the statement above, that it plans to roll out updates Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles, Apple Developer Forums, Bug Reporter, pre-release developer libraries, and videos immediately, to be followed up by restore software downloads in order for betas of iOS 7, Xcode 5, and OS X Mavericks to be once again made available to program members.

In an attempt to smooth things over with seething devs, Apple Insider is reporting that Apple has “created a special system status webpage to keep developers in the loop when certain systems return to service. Currently, only iTunes Connect is fully operational.”

Just three days ago Apple released the beta 4 version of its flagship desktop operating system, the highly-anticipated OS X 10.9 Mavericks. Though not a substantial update, the beta 4 includes minor tweaks and bug updates, though the full release this fall is expected to include App Nap, Compressed Memory, Multitasking, Siri, as well as Tabbed Finder, full screen dual monitor capabilities, Safari improvements, and a new Maps app. Once back online, developers who have yet to receive the update via the Software Update tool in the Mac App Store will be able to.

Mac Rumors notes that “Apple says that it has been working around the clock on a complete overhaul of its developer systems since the Developer Center was taken down. Apple has noted that developer memberships and apps set to expire during the outage will be given an extension to account for the significant downtime.”

For those devs affected by the outage, please feel free to share or vent your experience being kept offline from Apple’s developer site.
