A Lowell man was visited by the police after sending pop star Ariana Grande a flood of strange gifts, TMZ reported today.

A massive pumpkin might not be the weirdest thing a star has ever been given. Emma Watson has received multiple Bibles from religious zealots against witchcraft. Someone once left a baby on Dolly Parton’s doorstep. And creepily, Jared Leto received an actual human ear, along with a note reading “Are you listening?” Weird gifts seem to come with the territory of being a celebrity, but that doesn’t mean that it’s in any way OK for fans to send their celebrity crushes creepy gifts.

Police visited 29-year-old Tim Normandin after he sent Grande a 42.5-pound pumpkin for Halloween. Grande’s record label decided to alert the authorities after the latest gift was sent, but according to TMZ, Normandin has sent Grande several other presents, too, including eight Yankee Candles, dog and cat calendars, a three-piece K-Mart mirror set, a $200 anklet from Kay Jewelers, and a rock from the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Police told Normandin that he would face criminal harassment charges if he continued to send gifts, but Normandin seems unfazed, posting the legal definition of criminal harassment on his Facebook page, followed by the complaint, “Nothing real fair about having your intellect silenced in a room full of ignorance.”

Normandin’s Facebook profile also features several photos of Grande with her boyfriend Big Sean, along with apparently self-composed poems. One reads

Ariana Grande, don’t cheat me I’ve earned
Are you dating are you not that’s their only concern
To who you give your ass up that’s all they want to learn
If to a glorified womanizer, well that’s none of their concern
Cause where you’ll be in twenty years they don’t care about that
But seeing you kiss that dirty little rat
Well, your dignity is lost, but their jerking off to that
My love sets you free so you can spite me as you please and we’ll hope it works out
But, you’d be best with me, that’s a CERTAINTY, no doubt

Grande rose to prominence after being cast in the Broadway musical 13, followed by roles in Disney Channel’s Victorious and Sam & Cat. She released her album My Everything in August, and it quickly followed her previous album Yours Truly as the top album in the United States.

The Lowell Sun released a video of Captain Crowley of the Lowell Police Department talking about the incident. Check it out below:
