Plenty of buzz has built up around Assembly Row, the new dining and retail destination that has taken over the stretch of Assembly Square in Somerville along the Mystic River. And as new businesses in the development began popping up over the course of the summer, we now have a premiere destination for shopping, dining and entertainment: From Legoland Discovery Center, to an AMC Movie Theater, to Legal on the Mystic – not to mention, the first new T station since 1987, which opened on the Orange Line this week – there’s plenty of reason to pay Assembly Row a visit.

But the biggest draw, at least for those looking to fill out their wardrobes this fall, are the outlet stores. Quietly over the past few months, the Boston area has become home to a slew of awesome outlet-shopping opportunities. And you know what that means: marked down prices on your favorite, trusty brands.

Four outlet stores recently got up and running at Assembly Row: The J.Crew Factory Store, the Banana Republic Factory Store and the LOFT Outlet by Ann Taylor all opened this August in the development. On top of those, a Saks Off Fifth, Nike Factory Store, Chico’s Outlet, Clarks Outlet, Gymboree Outlet, Stride Rite Outlet, Kay Jeweler’s Outlet and Pendelton Outlet have opened this summer, during Assembly Row’s Grand Opening Season.

That’s not all, either: Coming up, shoppers can look forward to a Lucky Brand Outlet as well as a Kenneth Cole Out, slated to open this fall.

Of the openings, Andi Simpson, the marketing director of Federal Realty for Assembly Row, said:

Assembly Row continues to unfold with some of the most popular brands in fashion. From clothing and handbags to footwear and other accessories, Assembly Row promises to become an unparalleled destination for every fashion need. Now with the Assembly T Station open, access to sought-after brand outlet shopping comes to the urban core.

It’s true; previously, for factory store shopping, Boston locals had to migrate to the Wrentham Village Outlets. Now, the marked down prices are just a T ride away. Enticing, eh?

In addition to the many outlets, Assembly Row is also a hotspot for shoe lovers: With Adidas, Puma, Converse, Reebok and Steve Madden stores complement the Nike and Stride Rite outlets. For the complete list of the stores you can find at Assembly Row, check their website.
