AT&T has had difficulty meeting broadband demands in densely populated urban areas, but today the cellular provider announced better cellular service is coming to  customers in the Allston area.

AT&T has been working to increase performance by adding more carriers to their network and thus increase capacity to better handle the growing demand for data hungry smartphones.

“Our goal is for our customers to have an extraordinary experience,” said Steve Krom, VP and GM of AT&T New England. “We’re committed to building out our urban networks, especially in the densely populated communities like Allston”

In addition, AT&T has announced a potential agreement to obtain T-Mobile USA; which will further increase the quality of service and allow them to expand  the next generation of mobile broadband- 4G-LTE- to more than 97 percent of the US population, if approved. This is excellent news for AT&T customers in Boston!
