As Nina Ricci’s artistic director, Peter Copping is known for his feminine dresses and ladylike silhouettes. But yesterday, WWD confirmed that after five years with the famed French fashion house, he’ll be stepping down from his post.

The talented designer, who previously held a position at Louis Vuitton, is rumored to be heading to Oscar de la Renta. And according to rumblings within the fashion world, Guillame Henry, former creative director at Carven, may be Peter’s replacement at Nina Ricci.

As of now, it appears there are no hard feelings. In fact, Ralph Toledo, the president of Ricci’s parent company, spoke very kindly of Peter in a statement thanking him for “his commitment to Nina Ricci and his contribution to the legacy of the house.”  Ralph added that “His vision has been a major factor in the re-launch of the brand. We wish him all the best for the continuation of his career.”

So, which rumors are true? We won’t know for awhile – and until then, you can bet all eyes will be on Peter. And I personally can’t wait to see what happens next.
