The expression,”everything’s bigger in Texas” may now be true for Fenway as well. This Saturday Bar Louie begins, “taking up residence next to the new Marriott Residence Inn” in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood, according to EaterBoston. The 5,800-square-foot bar will seat over two hundred people.

For those who don’t already know, the chain has a nearby location in Foxborough inside the Patriot Place at Gillette Stadium. The director of operations, Bill Cochran, told the BBJ, “we’ve experienced overwhelming support in Foxborough, since our opening at Patriot Place in 2008, so needless to say we’re thrilled to be going into another iconic area of Boston.”

Iconic indeed. Maybe Bar Louie’s popularity is due to the bar’s “eclectic urban…warm surroundings, filled with nightlife photography” as described on their website. As well as the “handcrafted signature martinis” and “unique American food traditionally and regionally inspired…small plates, burgers and sandwiches.”

But, since I’ve never been, I decided to check out the menu for myself. Here’s a preview of what (will soon) await you at Fenway. Bar Louie’s small plates include interesting dishes like truffle butter popcorn, bacon cheeseburger sliders (O.M.G), Bavarian pretzel sticks, blackened salmon sliders and of course, tortilla chips with 3 dips – yum.

That all sounds delicious, but what about these signature cocktails, hmm? The bartenders at Bar Louie will be mixing up exceptionally unique martinis such as the “S’Mores” (Absolut Vanilia, Godiva Chocolate, toasted marshmallow, etc.), “The Fizz” (Absolut Mandarin, St-Germain, Prosescco, etc.), and my pick, “Diva” (SKYY Pineapple, PAMA Liqueur, fresh-cut pineapple, etc.). Of course, there are 13 other unique martinis to choose from – as well as, margaritas and mojitos.

I’d say there’s certainly a sufficient amount of alcohol and food on the menu to keep your happy hour, or Red Sox pre-gaming, rolling steady.
