From Peter Som to Richard Chai Love, the makeup looks at New York Fashion Week have been all about the eyes. And it was no different at Meskita‘s neoprene-filled runway show last night, where Bobbi Brown’s lead makeup artist, Rogelio Reyna, took the cat-eye to new levels.

“We wanted to go with a 50s-meets-New-York-Barbie look,” Rogelio says, “so we just did flawless-looking skin with an extreme cat-eye.”

His tips for achieving the runway look? “Always follow your natural eye. Start at the corner of your eye, draw a little line up to the crease, do a little triangle, and follow it onto the lid itself. And then, just color within the lines.” Rogelio also recommends using Bobbi Brown’s award-winning long-wear gel eyeliner to keep your cat-eye from smearing.

As for other beauty trends this Fashion Week, Rogelio says it’s all about soft, not-overgroomed brows and a pale, almost-nude lip. Sounds like our fall beauty routines will be pretty easy – once we master this cat-eye, that is.
