Project Runway alum–turned–New York Fashion Week regular Christian Siriano is a true success story. And his Spring 2015 Collection? In icy arctic blues and greens, sharp laser-cut patterns, and crystal embroidery – inspired by the diffusion of light and reflective transparency of Sergio Redegalli’s glass sculptures – well, it’s par for the course.

Makeup artist Polly Mellon helped bring the vision to life, with models batting glittery eyelashes as they strutted around the set’s tall framed mirrors. We suspect shimmering lids will be a beauty trend with staying power (and one that would look particularly good on front-row guest Coco Rocha). So we connected with Polly to get the scoop on how to bring the iridescent look home.

First, make sure to powder your T-zone. “One of my pet peeves is shiny foreheads,” said Polly. Keep your skin natural and brows groomed. For the eyes, “use a navy blue mascara on your top and bottom lashes, and then add sparkles on the lid and in the eyelashes.” The trick to making them stick? Just put “a bit of aloe on your lid!” Finally, to complete the look, add “a little bit of pink blush to the cheeks and then a nude lip.”

In spite of a focus on lightness, these eyes pack a bold surprise. From one angle, it’s subtle and ladylike. But just a turn of the head will reveal what Polly delightfully calls a “ping of holographic color.”
