When it comes to brew in the Hub, we’ve got a pretty awesome selection of coffee houses to chose from. No matter what neighborhood you live in, there’s bound to be more options than just your typical Starbucks. So, which one is the “best”?

Everyone certainly has their own opinion on the matter. But according to Krups, a coffee, espresso and kitchen appliance company, the best in Boston is located right in Davis Square. The company kicked off the Krups Best Brew Awards 2014 to find out where the best coffee shops in the nation are hiding.

They called for entries and determined the winner by running a public vote on their Facebook page. Fans across the nation weighed in and the top 5 Boston nominees were Voltage Coffee and Art, Ula CaféDiesel Café, Trident Booksellers & Café, and PS Gourmet Coffee.

Diesel Cafe in Davis Square won first place for Best Brew in Boston – and managed to beat out last year’s winner,Voltage Coffee and Art. Krups explains that the Somerville shop’s “java is the obvious draw, which comes in the form of lattes, cappuccinos and café au lait,” as well as “a grab bag of creative wraps, sandwiches and pastries.”
