After gorging on that massive Thanksgiving feast last week, you probably haven’t felt the need to explore new restaurants recently. But now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, and the holidays are in full-swing, we think it’s time to get a taste of what you’ve been missing. Over the past few weeks, Boston’s welcomed quite a few first-rate restaurants – five of which we think you should try this weekend. Happy eating!

American Fresh Brewhouse

301 Canal St., Somerville

The American Fresh Brewhouse, opened by the makers of Slumbrew beers and Somerville Brewing, offers sandwiches and charcuterie plates in a casual beer garden environment. The new outdoor beer garden experience is definitely a must-do this weekend. And yes, there is a heated tent for diners. If you go, the brewhouse is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Ames Street Deli

73 Ames St., Cambridge

The folks behind popular Somerville spots, Journeyman and Backbar, have opened Ames Street Deli in Cambridge’s Kendall Square neighborhood. The deli opened last month and serves up everything from fois gras sandwiches to rabbit sandwiches. If you go, the eatery is open this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. The deli is closed on Sundays.

Gracie’s Ice Cream

22 Union Square, Somerville

A little bit of cold weather never stopped anyone from enjoying ice cream on a Saturday. Fortunately, you can now get your sweet treats fill at the newly opened Gracie’s Ice Cream, located in Somerville’s Union Square neighborhood. The shop is now open noon to 9 p.m. on weekends.

Panelli’s Pizza & Parm

415 Harvard St., Brookline

If you’re in the Brookline neighborhood, we recommend heading to the newly opened Panelli’s Pizza & Parm sometime this weekend. The pizza and parm sandwich shop opened just after Thanksgiving. According to UrbanDaddy, the restaurant offers “a counter-service, whole-pie or by-the-slice operation.” The article also notes that fried oreos and meatball parm sandwiches are also available. Eater Boston reports that the restaurant is open seven days a week. This Saturday it will be open 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; Sunday it will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

PAUL Bakery

631 Assembly Row, #230, Somerville

If you’re looking for macarons and baguette sandwiches galore, we recommend heading to the French bakery-cafe, PAUL, which opened in Assembly Row last month. The newly opened PAUL location makes Boston the third city in the U.S. to gain the bakery chain, which currently has 600 bakeries in 34 countries. This weekend, PAUL is open Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
