Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week descended upon New York City this past Thursday. And, yes, guilty – our eyes have been glued to the runways. But there’s far more to Fashion Week than the fashion itself. Here, a look at a few of the city’s most glamorous outside-the-tents haunts.

The See-and-Be-Seen Nightspot: Beauty & Essex
Saunter into this moody Lower East Side spot for cocktails and small plates – but don’t leave without stopping by the restroom. The women’s has a vintage sofa and (yes) flowing champagne.

The Style Hotel: the Quin
Once home to artists Georgia O’Keeffe and Marc Chagall, this opulent new hotel, located just blocks from Lincoln Center, is worth checking out for its legacy alone. Don’t miss the lobby’s impressive 15-foot digital art wall.

The Fashion Exhibit: The Anna Wintour Costume Center
Fine, it’s not open during Fashion Week. But we’re counting down the days. After two years of renovations, the Met’s Costume Institute – newly minted after Vogue editor in chief Wintour – will open in May.

Planning a trip to New York? We’ve lined up your fashionable night’s sleep. Our Style Spot: the Quin in New York, NY Boutique is open now.
