Dining should be an experience- and this is the ultimate New England experience.” – Chef Paul Turano

It’s not often (or ever) that I find two of my favorite pastimes combined into one event. But this Sunday, October 6th is an exception. For the third time in a row, Chef Paul Turano will lead Tryst’s Bike & Bites twenty-two mile culinary tour with the intention of combining his passion for food and adventure. What could be better than eating and drinking your way through the Greater Boston area, all while simultaneously burning off the calories? Win-win.

Chef Turano explains that “each and every year we get more and more people signing up [for Bikes and Bites]– it’s really taken off. It has a following of its own, and I think a lot of it has to do with the camaraderie that forms.”

After all, you are biking all day with fellow foodies and adventure-seeking folks like yourself. You’re sure to make friends with people who share your interests and love for the fall season. Bikers are not only outside experiencing New England’s crisp fall weather and colorful, changing leaves, but also tasting the fall flavors with the dining aspect of the trip.

Chef Turano tell us that he “wanted to do something that was out-of-the-box and really highlighted the fall season. Everyone does squash soups and seasonal specials… I wanted to do something where diners got to experience it all.”

The culinary bike tour will begin at 11am at Quad Cycles, a bicycle shop located in Arlington, MA. From there, the foodie cyclists will head to Ferns Country Store in Carlisle, MA for a special wine tasting event (with food, of course). Followed by a ride to Wilson Farm in Lexington, MA, where they will tour the farm before heading back to Arlington. The entire 22 mile journey culminates in a two-course dinner at Tryst Restaurant. A delicious and much-deserved reward for your pedal pushing day.

The all-inclusive culinary bike tour is $40 per person and an additional $17 per person for bike and equipment rental from Quad Cycles. RSVP is mandatory so make sure you purchase tickets here.
