Bill Belichick took to the podium for his first press conference since the ESPN report regarding the NFL’s findings about the Patriots in the ongoing scandal over under-inflated footballs in the AFC Championship game, denying any knowledge of the issue. New England, who ESPN alleged used 11 of 12 footballs that were below NFL regulation, is still headed for Super Bowl XLIX against the Seahawks on February 1st, but have been clearly impeded on a media level by the swarm of “Deflate-gate” activity. His press conference was highly anticipated as a result.

“I had no knowledge,” Belichick asserted of the under-inflated balls.

Belichick cited that in practice, he regularly makes his footballs worse for players, so as to prepare them better for game-regulation footballs.

“I’m tying to coach the team, and that’s what I want to do,” Belichick said. When pressed in questions, Belichick repeatedly said “I’ve told you everything I know.”

“In my entire coaching career, I have never talked to a player or staff member about football air pressure,” Belichick explained in his opening statement, unequivocally.

Tom Brady is scheduled to talk with the media at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
