If you were bummed out last week when BlackBerry announced the release of its BlackBerry Q10 device on T-Mobile because you use AT&T, time to cheer up. BlackBerry released a statement this morning saying it will release the BlackBerry Q10 for AT&T on June 5 for the contracted price of $199.99 with two-year commitment.

The BlackBerry Q10 is something of an enigma in today’s smartphone landscape. The QWERTY keyboard is the most glaring piece of technology offered by BlackBerry’s handset in that keyboards are not trendy for manufacturers or users, and it seems like almost daily that manufacturers are moving away from keyboards with perpetual touchscreen upgrades.

Still, for the BlackBerry faithful, what’s underneath the hood seems formidable enough. The gadget sports a clear–though rather small–touchscreen display, is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 plus processor, offers an expedient 2GB of RAM, features 16 GB of internal storage with the microSDXC option for another 64GB, and allows for 1080p and 720p video resolution with the 8MP and 2MP front and rear cameras, respectfully.

The BlackBerry 10 OS is dexterous with real-time updates and arguably BlackBerry’s finest accomplishment as far as smartphone technology is concerned. But with that annoying QWERTY keyboard, it may be hard for BlackBerry to get its Q10 foot in the door.

Here is the official statement issued by BlackBerry, courtesy of Engadget,

“AT&T was the first carrier to launch BlackBerry smartphones and services in the U.S. and was the first in the U.S. to launch the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone. Building on our strong BlackBerry heritage, we are excited to announce that beginning June 5 customers can pre-order the BlackBerry Q10 smartphone for $199.99*,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president-Devices, AT&T. “The BlackBerry Q10 extends the new BlackBerry 10 experience to customers with the physical keyboard they love and the secure platform they expect, all on the nation’s fastest 4G LTE network.”

I’m curious to hear who out there is looking forward to buying the BlackBerry Q10 and why. Is it the QWERTY keyboard? Is it other features that you’ve grown accustomed to? Would you be willing to ditch the likes of Apple’s iPhone 5 or Samsung’s Galaxy S4 for the BlackBerry Q10?
