The weekend’s come and gone and November is pressing onward. As we gear up for the holidays, things are about to get crazy with family dinners, flights, Black Friday and the like. Before that all kicks in though, let’s see what’s lined up for this week.

Monday

Megan Amram Discusses “Science…For Her!” – 6 p.m. – Harvard Book Store – Harvard grad and Parks and Recreation writer Megan Amram has written her first book, an outrageously satirical faux-scientific textbook that reads like a women’s magazine that’s discussing topics like global warming and the Periodic Table. She’ll be discussing the book and signing copies tonight at the Harvard Book Store.

BCYF HubNob – 6:30 p.m. – House of Blues – This party to benefit the Boston Centers for Youth and Families, an organization known as Boston’s “best kept secret,” brings together food from Boston restaurants, music, auctions and more for a good cause. Tickets are available at the door.

Tuesday

Millennials: Recruiting and Retaining a New Generation – 5:30 p.m. – Bentley University – Join Bentley, Bloomberg Radio and the CEOs of HubSpot and BNY Mellon Wealth Management for a conversation on millennials in the workplace.

Samuel Adams Beer Social – 7 to 9 p.m. – Estelle’s – Estelle hosts beer socials every second and fourth Tuesday of the month, and this week, they’ll be featuring Sam Adams brews. Particular beers to be announced.

WBUR’s Serious Fun: An Evening of Comedy and Storytelling with Ophira Eisenberg – 7 and 9 p.m. – A.R.T. – The first installation of WBUR’s new series, “Serious Fun,” is this Tuesday at the American Repertory Theater. Comedian and writer Ophira Eisenberg will be featured for two shows in one night.

Limited Beer Night: Sixpoint Brewery – 7 to 10 p.m. – Tavern at the End of the World – Limited edition beers from Sixpoint brewery will be on tap for one night only at Tavern at the End of the World for an event presented by Pintley. No cover.

Wednesday

The New England Kitchen with Jeremy Sewall – 6 to 8 p.m. – 808 Commonwealth Ave. – BU’s Metropolitan College is hosting a kitchen tasting and demo with Chef Jeremy Sewall, who will be creating recipes from his new book and offering up a fresh take on seasonal recipes.

The Art Garden Launch Party – 7 to 10 p.m. – District Hall –  The Art Garden, a non-profit organization that provides local youth organizations with access to arts and cultural events, is celebrating its launch at District Hall this week. The event includes drinks, apps, a raffle and an auction, and all proceeds will help fund the non-profit.

Thursday

Youth Design’s 2014 Carnival – 6 to 8:30 p.m. – W Hotel – Join Youth Design for carnival games, cocktails and celebrations. Guests can win prizes from local design-oriented businesses and retailers, and Youth Design’s “Mentor of the Year” will be announced.

11th Annual Expect Miracles Wine and Spirits Event – 6:30 p.m. – The Revere Hotel – Sample craft beer, cocktails and wine at this annual Expect Miracles party, which raises funds for the fight against cancer.

Fall/Winter Fashion Event – 6 to 9 p.m. – G-Star Raw Boston – Presented by Jeff Lahens of DressCode Boston, this fall/winter fashion show brings together local style bloggers (including BostInno’s Alex Weaver), for an evening of fashion, drinks, music and more.

Wunderbar Launch Party – 6 to 9 p.m. – Mullen – Mullen and Workbar have teamed up to create a new innovative and collaborative space, Wunderbar, the first co-working space tailored for ad-tech startups. Three new companies have already signed up to move their digs into the incubator. There will be beer, wine and food at the party.

Ski & Snowboard Expo – November 13-16 – Seaport World Trade Center – BEWI Ski and Snowboard Expos are returning this weekend to the Seaport World Trade Center.
