I just looked at my “Just Pugs” desk calendar and almost fell off my chair. There’s no denying that August is zooming by faster than you can say “August is zooming by,” and on top of that, there seems to be a chill in the air that signifies fall is coming up in no time. What’s that all about? But, enough of the depressing talk. Here’s what’s going on this week in Boston – happy Monday, y’all.

Monday

Dogfish Head Beer Dinner – 7 to 8:30 p.m. – The Biltmore Bar and Grille – Don’t feel like cooking tonight? Head to The Biltmore in Newtown for a four course dinner hosted by Dogfish Head. They’ll be pairing beers like their Namaste and 90 Minute IPA with dishes like shrimp ceviche and roasted pork torteloni. Reservations are still open; $70 per person.

Tuesday

Arts in the Park with sparc! the Art Mobile – 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Titus Sparrow Park, South End – Presented by United South End Settlements, the 10th annual Arts in the Park is taking place this Wednesday with MassArt’s sparc! the Art Mobile traveling studio, the MFA, the Boston Center for the Arts, ARCK and Little Lovage Club. Head to the park for hands-on activities with local artists and refreshments. Free to attend.

Uniqlo’s Meet and Greet with Wally the Green Monster – 12 to 1 p.m. – Uniqlo is building up buzz as they prepare to open stores in the Boston area, and they’ve teamed up with Red Sox for a meet and greet with Wally the Green Monster at their Faneuil Hall pop up. The World Series trophies will also be on site for photo ops.

Free August Party with One Brick Boston – 6 to 8 p.m. – Boston Beer Works – One Brick Boston is hosting its August party at Boston Beer Works on Canal Street with free pool and a cash bar. Meet volunteers, get to know the One Brick team, learn about upcoming events in the city and get involved.

Wednesday

2nd Annual Bombshells Against Breast Cancer – 6 to 8 p.m. – MJ O’Connor’s Waterfront – Join the fight against breast cancer with the bombshells of Boston media (yours truly included!) at this patio party that benefits the Ellie Fund. Tickets are $15, and there will be beer, wine, snacks, and raffle prizes.

Summer Shindig at Taza Chocolate – 6 to 8 p.m. – Taza Chocolate Factory – Celebrate the end of summer with Taza at this outdoor event featuring music, food, drink, bocce and, of course, chocolate. Free to attend.

Adult Fans of Lego Night – 7 to 9 p.m. – Legoland Discovery Center Boston – Lego lovers, you might have realized that the new Legoland Discovery Center at Assembly Row is only open to adults accompanied by kids. Not this Wednesday! Head to the center for an Adults Only night and explore all it has to offer, including a virtual factory tour and a replica of Boston made out of Legos. Tickets are $20 and must be booked online in advance.

Sam Adams’ Ales for ALS – 7:30 p.m. – Sam Adams Boston Brewery – Want to donate to ALS without dumping ice water on your head? Sam Adams is hosting a series of events this month to benefit the cause, with tickets ($20) getting you one full featured beer, four beer samples, and a food truck meal. All proceeds will benefit the ALS Therapy Development Institute.

Thursday

Fete Forward Festival – August 21 & 22 – Dudley Square – Music and dancing will take over Dudley Square this Thursday and Friday when the Fete Forward Festival comes to fruition. Activities include Blacka di Danka dance classes, a secret loft party party with The Salvation Army, and a free “Culture Clash” on Friday night. Tickets for the dance classes and The Salvation Army party are currently available online.

New England Revolution’s Bartending Fundraiser – 6:30 p.m. – Clery’s – New England Revolution players will step off the field and behind the bar to serve drinks in support of the ThinkTaylor charity, an organization that raises education and awareness for sports-related brain injuries. All tips will be donated to the cause. Rev Girls will be handing out prizes and gear as well. No cover charge.
