The weekend has rolled around once again (it’s about time), and coming up, we’ve got a lot on our plates. There are festivals, citywide bike rides, oysters galore and plenty of parties to keep you busy all weekend long, you just gotta get out there and do it.

Friday

Idle Hands Custom Brew and Tap Takeover – 4 to 11 p.m. – Hopsters – Idle Hands, based in Everett, Mass., will be brewing a custom beer at Hopsters this Friday night, and 20 people who register can have a hand in the process. Just want to come out and enjoy the Idle Hands brews at the Newton brewhouse? Guests are admitted for free.

Aeronaut Septemberfest – 5 to 11 p.m. – Aeronaut Brewing – Live music, seasonally appropriate beer and good vibes make this Aeronaut Septemberfest party a great way to kick off the weekend. It’s free to get in, but registration is required.

Green Briar’s 25th Anniversary Celebration – 7 p.m. – Green Briar – Celebrate 25 years of the Green Briar’s run in Brighton this Friday night with a cocktail party from 7 to 9 p.m., followed by a nightlong dance party with Muse House.

8th Annual Project Smile Charity Date Auction – 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. – Venu – Take part in Boston’s biggest night for singles, which brings together the city’s bachelors and bachelorettes for a live date auction to benefit Project Smile, an organization the helps children recover from trauma.

WZLX New England Craft Beer Festival – September 19 & 20 – Cyclorama at Boston Center for the Arts – The first WZLX New England Craft Beer Festival is taking place this weekend at the Cyclorama. Top breweries from all over New England will be providing tastings, with over 90 beers to try.

Saturday

HarborArts Festival – September 20 & 21 – HarborArts, Inc. – HarborArts is back this weekend to celebrate the HarborArts Shipyard Gallery in East Boston. There will be live music, food and drink and more activities for the whole family. Suggest donation is $10.

Phantom Gourmet Food Festival – Noon to 4 p.m. – Lansdowne and Ipswich Streets – Phantom Gourmet’s favorite foods will gather outside of Fenway Park for the Phantom Gourmet Food Festival. There will be samples from tons of Boston’s best restaurants.

The Great American Patio Party – 2 to 5 p.m. – Sterling’s – The Great American Foundation is teaming up with Sterling’s for one of the last patio parties of the season. There will be lobster sliders, chowder, craft beer and more at the event as well as Boston’s Bob Marley cover band.

Mom and Pop-Up: The Done Zone – 8 p.m. – The Fenway – The Fenway is launching a month long pop-up series, dubbed the Mom and Pop-Up, and they’re kicking things off with a beautiful collaborative pop-up between Union Square Donuts and Toscanini’s, who will be whipping up ice cream donut sandwiches. More collaborative events are to follow throughout the month.

Sunday

2nd Annual Harvard Square Folk Festival – Noon to 4 p.m. – Harvard Square – Head to Harvard Square for a free afternoon folk concert, featuring 4 artists from 12 to 4 p.m. Family friendly.

Allston Village Street Fair – Noon to 6 p.m. – Allston Village – Live bands, artists and vendors, restaurants and more will flock to the streets of Allston – mainly, Harvard Ave and Cambridge Street – for the Allston Village Street Fair, a multicultural and lively afternoon celebration. This year’s theme is Mardi Gras.

Chowderfest at Harvard Square – 2 to 3:30 p.m. – Brattle Plaza – The Harvard Square Business Association is hosting the area’s first Chowderfest, inviting local restaurants to bring out their best chowders for a festival event in Brattle Square.

Battery Wharf Oyster Festival – 2 to 5 p.m. – Fairmont Battery Wharf – Oyster season is just starting, and Fairmont is inviting local chefs and shuckers to celebrate. Enjoy a raw bar, small plates, cocktails and live music at this Oyster Festival.

10th Annual Hub on Wheels – 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. – Boston City Hall – Hosted by Boston Bikes, the Hub on Wheels is a city-wide Boston bike ride followed by a Boloco Block Party. Bike on Storrow Drive and discover more routes in Boston.
