The weekend is coming up at last – for a short week, this one certainly felt long, ya know what I’m sayin’? And even though Labor Day often signifies the beginning of fall, temperatures are supposed to linger in the 90s for the most of the weekend, so … don’t put away your summer clothes just yet. Don’t put away your summer vibes, either: here’s what to do to this weekend in Boston.

Friday

Boston Calling – September 5 to 7 – City Hall Plaza –  Boston Calling Musical Festival is back for its September run, and in addition to headliners like The National, Lorde and Nas x The Roots, the festival will also include Samuel Adams Octoberfest. New England Underground Music Festival – September 5 & 6 – Cuisine En Locale – Presented by Boston Hassle, this two day festival brings together the community’s underground musicians and artists in one place. The music will go from 6 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Cheeseburger Launch – 5 to 8 p.m. – Kings Boston – In honor of National Cheeseburger Day, Kings will launch a cheeseburger into space for the second year in a row, and this time, they hope to have visual evidence of the launch. *Update* A previous version of this article stated that free cheeseburgers would be given out on September 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. The correct date is September 18.

ICA First Fridays: Endless Summer – 5 to 10 p.m. – ICA – Enjoy the last of summer with a multimedia installation “The Vision” in the ICA, as well as bluegrass band The Lonely Heartstrings performing on the patio. There will be drinks, food, dancing and more. Tickets are free for members, $15 for non.

MFA First Fridays – 6 to 9:30 p.m. – MFA – Head to the MFA for a late summer cocktail party with food, drinks and mingling, as well as fine art and live music. Tickets are free for members, $25 for non.

Saturday

Pooch-a-Palooza – September 6 & 7 – Topsfield Fairgrounds – Grab your pooch and head to the Topsfield Fairgrounds for the two-day, outdoor dog festival. There will be engaging activities, games, giveaways and more to entice dogs of all breeds and owners of all ages. Proceeds from the event will be donated to PAWS New England, a rescue organization for dogs.

Charlestown Art in the Park 2014 – 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. – City Square Park – Hosted by the Artists Group of Charlestown, Art in the Park invites art enthusiasts to browse the booths set up by local artists selling paintings, sculptures, jewelry, pottery and more. Come shop for gifts and enter raffles to support local art.

Narragansett Beer Tasting on Georges Island –  12 to 3 p.m. – Georges Island – Head to Georges Island this Saturday for music from The Life Electric and OldJack, as well as four Narragansett beer tastings for $5. Food will be provided by Rita’s Catering.

JP Music Festival – 12 to 7 p.m. – Pinebank Field – This free afternoon festival brings together 21 bands grown in Jamaica Plain: all participating bands must have one member living or working in the area. With music on two stages, food from JP Licks and Tres Gatos, and beer from Sam Adams, it’s a true Jamaica Plain celebration. Free to attend.

PemberFest Hyper Craft Beer Festival – 2 to 5 p.m. – Pemberton Farms – For $8, enjoy beer tastings from local breweries like Pretty Things, Newburyport, Clown Shoes, Nightshift and more. The $8 ticket also gets you an $8 voucher to shop the Permberton Farms store.

Run Wild 5K – 5 p.m. – Franklin Park Zoo – Partake in this 5K that goes along paved roads, tracks and trails and ends at the Franklin Park Zoo with an after party featuring local craft breweries. Race registration includes zoo admission, a T-shirt and the after party.

MFA by Moonlight – 9:30 p.m to 12:30 a.m. – MFA Calderwood Courtyard – Celebrate Anne and Graham Gund Director Malcolm Rogers’ 20th anniversary with the MFA at an after-hours party on Saturday night. MFA by Moonlight will feature a DJ set, bites, cocktails, and dancing in celebration.

Sunday

MFA Community Day – 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. – MFA – In continuing the celebrations in honor of Malcom Rogers, the MFA invites everyone in for a free admission day that includes community activities like a video tribute, an artist demonstration, and more.

Beyoncé Brunch – 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Back Bay Harry’s – Start your Sunday with a Beyoncé themed brunch hosted by Back Bay Harry’s. The $35 prix-fixe champagne brunch will come with a photobooth and red carpet for all your diva desires. Menu items include Love on Top Flatbread, The Mrs. Carter Scramble and Bey Day Pancakes.

Somerville Rock and Roll Yard Sale – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Union Square – Local, independent sellers will bring out their unique items for shoppers to browse at this all-day yard sale in Somerville’s Union Square. The focus will be on vinyl records, but there will be more vintage goods to find.

22nd Annual Cambridge Carnival International – 12 to 7 p.m. – Kendall Square – This free festival, celebrating African and Caribbean cultures, is one of Cambridge’s largest, with a costume parade, live music, ethnic foods and more.

Lookbook Live – 1 to 6 p.m. – Wrentham Village Outlets – Style experts from Glamour and GQ will be at the Wrenthm Village Outlets for the Simon Lookbook Live this Sunday, with consultations, contests and more to ring in the fall fashion season.

Patriots vs. Dolphins – 1 p.m. – Lawn on D – The Lawn on D will be screening this Sunday’s Patriots game outside under their tent on four 70-inch TV screens. The bars will be open, and a DJ will play during commercial breaks, followed by a performance by The Classic Yellow.
