On Tuesday afternoon in broad daylight, a bank was robbed in Jamaica Plain. Boston Police have confirmed the robbery, which was reported around 4:30 p.m., though it’s unclear at this time when it was reported to the authorities.
According to NECN, the robbery happened at 515 Centre Street which is the location of a Mt. Washington Bank, a division of East Boston Savings Bank.
NECN notes further that there’s no indication yet of how much money was forfeited and no injuries have yet to be reported, if any at all, though “a die pack was used when the money was handed over.”
Though MBTA service appears unaffected by the robbery, it’s worth noting that the bank falls along bus routes 39 and 41 between thebCentre St @ Roseway and Centre St @ Lochstead Ave stops. The Stony Brook orange line subway station is also about a half mile away from the bank.
In the know Twitter and web presence Universal Hub reports this particular bank was held up multiple times back in 2013.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned to BostInno for more information as it continues to be made publicly available.
