Once again, Boston’s ultimate beer-a-thon returns to the city. This Saturday, July 26 prepare yourself (with plenty of water) for the ninth annual Great Boston Beer Marathon. Crawling from bar to bar, these beer-loving Bostonians will make their way through the city one pint at a time.

Just as the Boston Marathon covers a 26 mile-spread, the Great Boston Beer Marathon will hit up 26 bars throughout the city. The day begins at the House of Blues, where participants will register from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by some serious bar crawling through the city.

The 26 participating bars on the beer marathon include House of Blues, House of Blues Restaurant, Church, Dugout Cafe, Bleacher Bar, Game On!, The Lansdowne, Whos on First?, Pizzeria Regina, Tavern in the Square, The Draft, Jillians, Lucky Strike, Tequila Rain, The Baseball Tavern, Common Ground, Wonder Bar, The Avenue Bar and Grill, Bills Bar, White Horse, Patrons, Harrys Bar and Grill, Pizzeria Uno, Loretta’s Last Call, Sweet Carolines, and Shanghai Social Club.

These Boston-area bars will also feature special deals including free food, sponsored drinks, free billiards, bowling and more – according to the event website. Bar-crawlers will also receive an official beer marathon t-shirt , a Viking helmet, a swag bag with plenty of swag, and entry into a raffle for prizes.

And while I’m not sure I see myself bar-crawling through the streets of Boston donning a Viking hat, you can bet I’ll see plenty of other Bostonians doing just that. If you’re interested in participating in the Great Boston Beer Marathon, check here for tickets and more information.
