What happens when Boston Bikes teams up with local restaurants? A free Tasting Tour Ride, obviously. Tomorrow, July 10, Boston Bikes will host their second Women’s Bike Social in the streets of Boston, complete with tastings from local eateries. The Tasting Tour Ride is the second of a series of bike socials being organized by Boston Bikes’ new Women’s Program, according to a release.

The event, which begins at 5:15 p.m. tomorrow, will start at Chinatown Park on the Rose Kennedy Greenway with a tasting for all riders. According to the description, during the 6-mile bike route “your taste buds will travel three continents and 4 neighborhoods, with delicious rest stops along the way… and features a rest stop at North End Park hosted by Taranta.”

All bikers will end their Tasting Tour Ride at the Christopher Columbus Park in the North End accompanied with dessert. But of course, after a 6-mile bike ride there’s no need to feel guilty about a little indulgence.

According to an official source, the goal of the women’s bike program is “is to spread the joy and benefits of biking in Boston, and to encourage more women to take to the streets by bike.” But you don’t need to be a biking pro. Beginners are welcome. A release states that the program is “part learning experience, part social outing” and is “geared for those new to road riding.” And if you don’t have a bike, you can rent one from Boston Bikes when you register.
