There’s always something abuzz around Boston Calling, it seems. After hosting a scavenger hunt earlier this year that led into the announcement of the May 2014 lineup – which includes headliners Jack Johnson, Death Cab for Cutie and Modest Mouse – the local festival dove right into its September counterpart by releasing the fall lineup this morning, a month before the spring festival takes place on May 23 through 25.

And it looks pretty awesome.

The fall festival, a three-day format like spring’s edition, will take place from September 5 through 7 on City Hall Plaza. Five headliners lead the sturdy lineup of artists, and while last year, the September festival leaned heavily on a hip hop lineup, this year, September wavers more in the middle, combining indie rock artists with pop and hip hop. Basically, there’s something for everyone.

The headliners for September 2014 New Zealand are pop star Lorde, who has shot her way to fame in recent months; indie rock outfit The National, who spearheaded the first Boston Calling go, and are the first act to return; The Replacements, a legendary rock band formed in 1979; a power set combining Nas and The Roots, Jimmy Fallon’s in-house band on Tonight; and finally, alt-rockers Neutral Milk Hotel.

Other notable acts include multi-talented rapper Childish Gambino, pop star Sky Ferriera, up and coming indie act The 1975, and DJ Girl Talk.

Already excited? Presale tickets go on sale tomorrow, April 24, at 10 a.m. Watch the announcement video below, and keep reading for the complete lineup.
