As the premier run of the Boston Calling Music Festival came to a close on Sunday night, the second follow-up festival to take place in September was announced. On September 7th and 8th this fall, Boston Calling will return to City Hall Plaza, this time bringing the headlining names of Passion Pit, Kendrick Lamar, Vampire Weekend, and Major Lazer to its stage.

The first festival ended Sunday night after a successful two-day run with performances by The National, fun., Of Monsters and Men, The Shins, and more. Two stages – one main stage and one smaller stage set up on the left side of the City Hall building – took turns housing the acts without any overlaps, and drew massive crowds. Of course, the weather couldn’t cooperate – Saturday saw a rainy, cold day, while the Sunday crowd escaped showers and somewhat warmer temperatures.

For those who missed out on this sold-out weekend, September’s festival will provide a second chance to see City Hall outfitted by music fans and beer gardens. Early bird tickets go on sale May 31st at 10 a.m., and will run at $120 for a weekend pass. For more information, go to bostoncalling.com.
