Attention Boston fellas: you are not the only ones who love beer. No, Boston ladies love beer too (and not just pumpkin beer). Don’t get me wrong, I am a big fan of girly cocktails and red wine as much as the next chick, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate a good beer. In fact, one of my favorite days as a Boston resident was an afternoon spent at Harpoon Beer Hall shamelessly indulging on warm pretzels and quality brews.

And I realized that this would be a fantastic date idea. Tasting brews is a shared experience that two people can talk and laugh about (obviously this also helps to avoid those awkward silences). So if you’re thinking of asking that special someone out this fall, I recommend checking out one of these 7 craft brew date spots or events in and around Boston.

New Hampshire Brewfest

October 19, Redhook Ale Brewery, Portsmouth, NH

The 5th annual New Hampshire Brewfest in nearby New Hampshire is hosted by Redhook Ale Brewery. Along with great brews, the festivities will include music and food—perfect for a day trip or getaway this weekend. Buy a ticket for you and your date here.

Fall Beer Fest

November 1, Cyclorama, Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremont St.

Fall Beer Fest in Boston is quickly approaching, so buy your tickets now. You won’t have to travel far for this festival. You and your date will be given a “passport” with a map of the event and can enjoy “traveling” through different regions of the world, all while tasting their beers.

Second Annual Latin Foods and Local Brews

November 2, Somerville Armory for the Arts, Somerville

This local brewfest is the perfect excuse to make a “casa connection” in Somerville. The festival will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. and from 7 to 10 p.m. Buy your tickets here.

Harpoon Beer Hall Tour

306 Northern Ave, Boston

What could be more romantic than a beer flight for two? Take a tour and cheers to your first of many dates while sipping on some hoppy beer flights.

Boston Beer Works

112 Canal Street or 61 Brookline Avenue

Skip Sam Adams (and the tourists) and head to Boston Beer Works. A great spot for a beer date, this place features local favorites like Back Bay IPA and Beantown Nut Brown.

Hopsters Brew & Boards

292 Centre Street, Newton, MA

A great brand new date spot for the true beer lovers. Not only will you be able to drink beer with your date but you can make the beer as well: the recently opened Hopsters Brew & Boards lets customers create their own craft beer.

Cambridge Brewing Company

1 Kendall Square

Given that this is Boston’s oldest gastropub, the Cambridge Brewing Company makes for a great date spot. The craft beer and food will give you a lot to talk about and won’t disappoint.
