Butterflies and goosebumps go hand-in-hand this Halloween night. In fact, were pretty sure that the spooky holiday is the perfect excuse to to send chills down someone else’s spine (in a good way). But if you haven’t already started planning your Halloween date, then it’s time to get crackin’.

In order to save you the time and effort it takes to scour the internet looking for dating ideas, we’ve put together a few ready-made options that should ensure a fun scare on this BOOtiful Halloween night. From sipping cocktails and watching scary movies, to a Halloween comedy show and pumpkin carving, we’ve got you covered.

Here are 5 last minute Halloween date ideas to start planning now.

Head to Improv Asylum’s Halloween Show, “Night of the Living Cereal Killers”

If you’re in the mood to cry laughing rather than cry out of fear (raise your hand), then head to Improv Asylum’s Halloween show in the North End. Located right at the base of Hanover Street, you’ll also have an unlimited number of romantic Italian dinner choices to hit up before the show at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 a pop and can be purchased here. Also, don’t forget to dress up in your Halloween garb — there will be a costume contest at the show.

Relive the 80s at The Beehive’s Zombie Prom

What could be better than reliving your awkward high school prom with a Brad Pitt-worthy zombie twist? Sounds like a great Halloween date to me. Not only can you enjoy some of the best cocktails in town, but also the serious zombie action will serve as a perfect icebreaker kind of date. The event starts at 9 p.m. and will feature an 80’s cover band. Also, if it’s any consolation, the event is free.

Get Down at the Halloween Pizza Party at Regina Pizzeria

Looking for a casual date this Halloween? Head to the Regina Pizzeria on Cambridge Street for their Halloween Pizza Party, presented by Allston Pudding, and check out local bands dressed in crazy costumes. The bands, Krill, Cuffs and Vundabar, will be playing as The Pixies, 80’s Sonic Youth, and the Violent Femmes. All slices of pizza are only $1 and the event itself is completely free. Just make sure you and your date come dressed ready to rock. The party starts at 9 p.m.

Cuddle up together and watch a scary movie

What could be more romantic and terrifying at the same time than cuddling up to a scary movie together? Well, this Halloween you certainly can. Several Boston area theaters will be showing scary movies tonight. You and your brave date can head to Brattle Theatre in Cambridge to see both “The Haunting” and “Halloween III” at 8 p.m. and 10:15 p.m.  Or head to Somerville Theatre to see “The Exorcist” playing at 7:30 p.m. tonight.

The Pumpkin Pageant at Fort Point Channel

If you and your honey are looking for a daytime date (and perhaps playing hookie from work today), then head to The Pumpkin Pageant at Fort Point Channel. You can walk hand-in-hand as you check out all of the different jack-o-lanterns on display. You’ll also receive free sugar pumpkins, warm cider, popcorn and pretzels. Good deal. Don’t forget to vote for favorite pumpkin at the pageant. The event runs from noon to 4p.m. today.
