Over a hundred inches of snow looks a lot prettier from above.

Over the course to two days, Boston Virtual Imaging, a real estate visual media production company, took to the skies to prove it. Using a DJI Phantom 2 drone, the BVI crew collected a couple hours of aerial footage, showing wintery versions of some of Boston’s most iconic sites, including Fenway Park.

“We weren’t actually over Fenway,” BVI owner Matt Murphy told BostInno in a phone call Thursday afternoon. No, the drone flew around the perimeter of the ballpark…

…After soaring over George Washington, Frog Pond ice skaters, and all of Boston Common.

BVI, which produces visual content for residential and commercial real estate clients, decided to launch the Phantom drone skyward on a whim. “There was no customer for [the drone footage],” Murphy said. “It was just a fun project… something we did internally.”

BVI shot the footage on Friday, February 20 and Monday, February 23. The company published its three-minute-long video on YouTube Thursday morning.

In the video’s closing seconds, BVI offers viewers an optimistic, warm message.

“The first day of Spring is March 20. Hang in there Boston.”
