Feeling a little cooped up after a snowy weekend? We can’t blame you. And if you’re still hesitant to get out there considering cold temps and more snow are on their way, we can’t blame you for that either. What we can do, though, is give you a few reasons to leave the house.

Tuesday

Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras Celebration – 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. – South Street Diner – Celebrate Mardi Gras, in the snow, at South Street Diner. There will be $5, all you can eat jambalaya, and more New Orleans fare like beignets, po’boys, alligator sausage and more.

Scotch Dinner – 7 p.m. – Eastern Standard – Hosted by Eastern Standard’s chef and bar manager, this Scottish dinner combines the country’s fare and scotch pairings.

Mardi Gras with BT Funk’s 2nd Line New Orleans Band – 8 p.m. – The Beehive – The South End spot is hosting a big Mardi Gras party led by a New Orleans-style band and traditional fare. Dinner is served starting at 5 p.m., music begins at 8 p.m.

Wednesday

AniMAtic Boston – 7 p.m. – Center for the Arts at the Armory Somerville – The inaugural AniMAtic Boston event brings together Boston’s animators and artists for a meeting to start building a community.

Thursday

6th Annual Chili Cup – 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. – Ned Devine’s – Join in on the 6th annual chili cook-off at Ned Devine’s. Local restaurants, including defending champions Bambara, will prepare their best chilis, which guests get to taste and vote for.

Singles Ping Pong Tournament – 7:30 p.m. – Brooklyn Boulders – Blazing Paddles and Brooklyn Boulders are teaming up for a ping pong tournament with prizes on the line. Admission is $10.
