Valentine’s Day and another potential snowstorm aren’t the only events lined up for this weekend. It doesn’t matter whether you’re single or adverse to more snow (aren’t we all?). Here’s what’s happening in Boston this weekend.

Friday

Valentine’s Gifts Pop-Up Shop – 1 to 6 p.m. – Carmelo Clothing – Hosted by Maki and Mpho, this Valentine’s Day pop-up shop is taking place at men’s boutique Carmelo Clothing in Jamaica Plain. Shop, meet the designer, and discover cultural neckwear.

A Good Night for a Bad Date – 5 to 8 p.m. – MIT Museum – On Valentine’s Day Eve, join speakers from Harvard, Harvard Medical School and Boston College for a lively and laughter-filled discussion about the science behind bad dates. Tickets are $10.

Arts + Hearts – 6 to 9:45 p.m. – MFA – Celebrate Love at the MFA by browsing the museum’s galleries, enjoying specialty cocktails and bites and mingling with loved ones on Friday night. Boston Globe Love Letters columnist Meredith Goldstein will be attending. Tickets are $25.

Special ‘Fifty Shades’ Menu – February 13 – Showcase Superlux – In honor of the ’50 Shades of Grey’ premiere, Showcase Superlux in Chestnut Hill is celebrating with a specialty themed menu. Think Mr. Jones’ Macarons, an “Inner Goddess” cocktail and a “Submissive Sangria.”

Saturday

Boston Wine Expo – February 14 & 15 – Seaport World Trade Center – Love wine? Then get in on the Boston Wine Expo, the city’s grandest celebration of all things red, white and bubbly. Sip vino from all over the globe and learn about the different kinds straight from the makers themselves. Two sessions.

Singles Awareness Day with Booze, Chocolates and Desserts – 2 to 4 p.m. – BCAE – Not in a relationship? Just really hate Valentine’s Day? Spend the day with likeminded people pairing chocolates, desserts and whiskies with instruction from BCAE.

Haters Valentine’s Day – 5 to 10 p.m. – Area Four – Every year, Area Four hosts a Valentine’s Day party for people who what the holiday. Enjoy food specials and hate-candies.

Formaggio Kitchen Cheese and Aeronaut Beer Pairing – 5 to 7 p.m. – Aeronaut Brewery – Celebrate your love for cheese and beer on this romantic holiday. Formaggio Kitchen will provide the cheese, while Aeronaut provides the brews. Tickets are $25 for a half-flight (four cheeses and beers), $45 for a full-flight (eight cheeses and beers).

Sunday

Post-Valentine’s Brunch – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – La Brasa – Brunch in honor of a great night or your least favorite holiday being over. La Brasa will be selling tickets for different seating times throughout the day.

Mardi Gras on the Ave – 3 to 7 p.m. – Dorchester Ave. – Mardi Gras is on Tuesday, February 17, and the bars along Dorchester Avenue are celebrating early. Tickets are $5 and drink specials will ensue.

From Boots to Roots – 5 to 10 p.m. – Loretta’s Last Call – This New England to Nashville Concert lets you get your country on right in Boston with Nashville artists. Tickets are $20.
