The Academy Awards, the Lunar New Year and more snow are all populating the calendar this weekend. But what should you be doing in the city, other than shoveling out your car or clearing off your front steps for the zillionth time? Read on to find out.

The Great Burlesque Exposition – February 20-22 – Hyatt Regency Cambridge – The 9th annual Great Burlesque Exposition is this weekend, if you need a way to heat up your days off. Made for both fans and professionals, the exposition offers up everything from props and products to buy to classes to take, with four different showcases along the way.

New England Home Show – February 20-22 – Seaport World Trade Center – Need to escape your snow-swallowed home? Head to the New England Home Show this weekend and browse the fixtures and potential updates you can add to your home when the snow finally clears.

Saturday

Best Picture Showcase – 10 a.m. – AMC Assembly Row – See every Best Picture nominated film – Boyhood, Birdman, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Whiplash, American Sniper, Selma, The Imitation Game and The Theory of Everything – back to back this Saturday at the AMC Assembly Row. Tickets are $65 for the entire screening, and you get $10 in AMC credit for your purchase.

Lunar New Year Celebration – 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Museum of Fine Arts – Celebrate the Year of the Goat at the MFA with free admission and activities, demonstrations and performances throughout the day.

Bourbon Street Blowout Pub Crawl – 12:30 to 8 p.m. – Faneuil Hall – Starting at the Bell in Hand Tavern, this pub crawl celebrating Mardi Gras will take you through a trip of Faneuil Hall bars. Costumes are required and beads will be thrown – hopefully you didn’t give up alcohol for Lent.

Gnar the Bar Pub Crawl – 12:30 to 6 p.m. – Fenway – If the snow and Fenway are more your style when it comes to pub crawls, head to Social Boston Sports’ blizzard themed crawl. Dress in your snow day best and partake in the fun, which includes give aways and a traveling ski shot.

Rice and Shine: Filipino Brunch in Boston – 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – The Vault – Hosted by Filipino Kitchen, this brunch will bring out the best of Filipino fare and drinks. If you’re unfamiliar, let this brunch be an introduction the Filipino flavors. Multiple reservation times available.

Cochon 555 – 5 p.m. – Royale – The annual, nationwide Cochon 555 tradition hits Boston this Sunday. Cochon 555 is a culinary competition featuring five chefs who will be preparing a whole pig in no more than six different ways; their dishes will then be judged and the winner will move on to the national finals. Chefs this year are Jody Adams (Trade, Rialto), Louis DiBiccari (Tavern Road), Kevin O’Donnell (The Salty Pig), Max Hull (Mei Mei Street Kitchen) and Aaron Chambers (Bar Boulud).
