Believe it or not, you too can commandeer your very own mini speedboat for a joyride around the Boston Harbor that will absolutely blow you away. And the best part is that no experience with boats – whatsoever – is necessary.

How do I know this? Because that’s exactly what I did this past weekend. Although considering that I captained the speed boat through Boston Harbor Mini Speed Boats, the word “commandeering” may be a bit strong.

After hearing nothing but great things about Boston Harbor Mini Speed Boats, I decided to give it a go. The family-owned speed boat business began just a few years ago in 2012 by Dan Arrington of Middleton, Mass. and has attracted both tourists and residents ever since. The family is also looking to expand their business to other nearby harbors and lakes sometime in the future.

Cody Arrington, Dan Arrington’s son who manages day-to-day operations at the company, lead our small group of F-13 mini speed boats through the Boston Harbor this past sunny Saturday evening.

The tour alternated between a leisurely, slow pace and a fast-pace, speedy ride. Personally, I thought it was the perfect balance between an exhilarating speed boat ride and a relaxing sightseeing tour in the no wake zone. Some of the landmarks you’re sure to see on your ride include Children’s Museum, Boston Tea Party Museum, Atlantic Wharf and right along Fan Pier, JFK Library, Fort Independence, Castle Island, the USS Constitution, Charlestown Navy Yard and more. Not to mention, you’ll also pass the Boston Harbor Islands.

And trust me – that view of the Boston skyline isn’t bad either. After my experience, I can honestly recommend signing up for one of their speed boat rides this summer. Check out some of the sights from my speedboat experience this weekend, below!
