This past week, it seems our city has been inundated with Boston Red Sox paraphernalia. The spirited gear can be found on everything from the Paul Revere statue in the North End to the ducklings in the Public Garden. Not to mention the Red Sox gear worn on your back. But now we have a new way to flaunt our Boston sports pride — on our Coke can.

That’s right, Coca-Cola is now commemorating the Boston Red Sox victory with the team’s very own specially-designed Coke can. Take that, you Boston haters. Soon you’ll find yourself with a reminder of our city’s resilience and awesomeness right in your hand.

Coca-Cola released a statement today with a description of the new Coke can. The commemorative-edition cans will of course feature the Red Sox logo with a message of congratulations.

Susan Fagan, Vice President of Market Unit Sales Operations, Coca-Cola Refreshments USA, Inc stated in the release, “With this special Coca-Cola can, we’re toasting the Boston Red Sox and their fans to celebrate this thrilling baseball season.” We couldn’t have said it any better — this season was about as thrilling as it gets.

According to the release, the Coca-Cola cans will be “available at participating retailers in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont.” All the cans are produced locally at Coca-Cola’s production facility in Needham, Massachusetts.

So now, we can remember the beards, home runs and exhilarating moments all while sipping a Coke. I think it’s safe to assume, however, that Budweiser won’t be doing the same.
