When it comes to winter and the holidays, there’s nothing better than copious amounts of chocolate – especially hot chocolate. Fortunately, for us it seems Boston is no stranger to the delectable cocoa treats. And as of next week, the city will be getting even sweeter.

That’s because Hotel Chocolat will be expanding to include a cocoa bar and a cafe on Newbury Street. The popular British chocolatier known for their luxury chocolates is actually one of the world’s few chocolate makers to actually grow their own cocoa.

According to a release the decor of the Cocoa Bar-Cafe is “designed to mimic its chocolates: refined, elegant and modern.” There will be a mix of modern touches with an added dimension of “rustic warmth.” The cafe will provide seating for up to sixteen guests and will offer al fresco dining once the weather warms up.

But in the meantime, we’ll be able to enjoy the authentic chocolate cafe just in time for the holidays. The Hotel Chocolat Cocoa Bar-Cafe is planning to open at the beginning of next week. And according to a release, it seems the menu will truly have something for everyone. The Hotel Chocolat menu plans to feature several different categories: Light and detoxing, good for the soul (drinking chocolate), energizing and stimulating, savory open sandwiches and warm chocolate plates.

Upon reading the drool-worthy menu, I was quite impressed with the wide selection of chocolates, including “nib butter’ on the toasted sandwiches, whipped cacao cream with the warm chocolate plates, and unique Whole Bean Cacao Drinks that are made from 100% roasted cacao beans.

Personally, I can’t wait to try the chocolate plates. With selections like Chocolate Hazelnut Spread with Roasted Hazelnuts, melted Mississippi Mud Pie slab, and sliced Banana with Chocolate Peanut Spread, I’m sure to give this cocoa bar a try (or several).

The Hotel Chocolat U.S. flagship store is located at 141A, Newbury Street in Boston.
