We’re all familiar with the McDonald’s Dollar menu. The cheapest chicken nuggets, fries, apple pies and (of course) chocolate sundaes, you’ll find anywhere. And let’s face it, in college we were a little too familiar with this insane bang for your buck. Well folks, McDonald’s is now replacing this beloved menu (gasp) with the Dollar Menu & More. And no, this is not as good as it sounds. In fact, the new menu plans to feature pricier fare.

McDonald’s new menu should include some of the same from the current Dollar Menu but will add “two more tiers” including sandwiches that range from $1 to $2, according to Ad Age. The Huffington Post also reports further that McDonald’s will introduce $2 burgers and $5 20-piece chicken McNuggets on the new Dollar Menu & More.

McDonald’s “CEO Don Thompson said on its third-quarter earnings call Monday morning that the menu will be rolled out nationally and supported by national advertising dollars,” as reported by Ad Age. The fast-food restaurant should start selling the Dollar Menu & More by Nov. 4. And you may begin to see advertisements promoting the menu come November 11.

According to Ad Age, the fast-food company “tweaked its 2013 marketing calendar” to emphasize value promotion of its products “in an effort to stave off declining sales.” And the rebranded Dollar Menu isn’t the only addition we’ve seen lately. In case you missed it, McDonald’s now serves up chicken wings and even their very own pumpkin-spice latte. Hey, the competition is fierce but McDonald’s continues to fight the good fight. Let’s just hope there’s room for a sundae on the new Dollar Menu & More.

Will you be trying out the new menu at McDonald’s in Boston?
