It’s less than a month until election day in Boston, whereupon someone not named Menino will be chosen to occupy the mayor’s City Hall office for the first time in 20 years. Already the race has seen its share of highs and lows, from big-name endorsements to faux Twitter followers – but now we’re handing the reins over to you, the Innovation Class, to see where this city’s young influencers stand on the topic.

Courtesy of Polar‘s Dmitry Dragilev, the new BostInno mayoral poll aims to gauge who the great citizens of Boston are leaning toward to helm our fair municipality.

So, who’s it going to be?

It’s difficult to determine who actually has the edge at this point in the game, but based solely on number of endorsements and current unofficial polls, City Councilor-At-Large John Connolly boasts a slight advantage. In terms of civic clout, though, Walsh’s backing by John Barros and Felix Arroyo – two former mayoral candidates whose names are already on the minds of voters – is sure to resonate soundly amongst the masses.

It seems almost daily a new poll is published by a local university or institute, and while all of their respective sample sizes differ in terms of who is actually tallied, one constant remains: Connolly is on top.

Perhaps the one factor that could tip the scales in this political balance of power is the forthcoming endorsement of Charlotte Golar Richie.  The senior vice president for public policy, advocacy and government relations for YouthBuild USA, Golar Richie came in a close third behind Connolly and Walsh in last month’s preliminary election.

But before she throws her weight behind the former or the latter, she wants to get all of her facts straight, and rightly so. “It’s important to me that I have a clear understanding where the two candidates stand,” she recently told the Boston Herald of her pending decision.

Four televised debates are scheduled to take place leading up to the election, pitting the two viable candidates head-to-head in front of city-dwellers. In the meantime, feel free to respectfully share your thoughts on either candidate and their policies in the comments section below. And check back often to see who’s ahead.
