On Friday, BostInno reported that mayoral candidate John Connolly had yet to receive any financial campaign contributions for the week of October 21 – October 27. That seems to have changed.

[UPDATE 8:06 PM] OCPF now reports that Connolly received $64,500 on Oct. 21.

This week, OCPF data shows Connolly received $53,465 in campaign contributions. Meanwhile, state Representative Marty Walsh has put together the second strongest week of any candidate — including preliminary candidates — over the course of the entire race, raising $372,788.55. Walsh’s week, currently, is second only to Connolly’s $390,270 raised between October 14 and October 20.

Natasha Perez, a Connolly spokeswoman, told BostInno on Friday that the camp felt good about their numbers, despite what the OCPF website indicated. In fact, Perez suggested that the Connolly camp was outpacing fundraising totals from the previous weeks.

The numbers appear to show otherwise.

The OCPF monitors receipts of  contributions sent to each candidate, including the contributor’s name, employer, amount and day of donation. Based on the website’s data, Connolly received all of his $53,000-plus in donations for this week on October 21. On Friday, October 25, this data was not displayed on the site. At the time BostInno’s original story ran, the OCPF website indicated that Connolly had not received any donations since October 17.

The reasoning remains unclear.

Data (receipt filings) for Walsh has been more consistent as of late, with his campaign’s fundraising numbers being updated on the OCPF website almost daily.
