TGIF people – not only is it the weekend but it will soon be the launch (or relaunch) of a Boston area club. We filled you in on Tunnel’s debut in Boston, the small albeit trendy nightclub happening underneath the W Boston Hotel & Residences. And now club-loving patrons, I bring you one more nightclub on the Boston scene: Whisky Saigon.

Not going to lie. I normally find nightclub names to be just a tad ridiculous (think: Guilt, Royale, Storyville, etc.), not to mention cheesy. Don’t get me wrong – the ‘untz untz’ factor is certainly a whole lot of fun at all of the aforementioned spots.

But Whisky Saigon is the exception. The nightclub, launching this Saturday, November 16, will be the result of a rebranded and transformed Gypsy Bar. Yes, the popular nightclub by Emerson College will now be a much edgier, less cliche version of the past popular nightclub. And with new branding brings a new set of club-hoppers and trendsetters. Not to mention a really awesome name.

The Saturday night grand opening event, hosted by Fashion TV, will feature The Chainsmokers, a trendy NYC DJ pair. And (no surprise) the relaunch party is already sold out (sorry, folks). Boston Eater reported that according to a release, the nightclub “promises the most innovative club experience in the city” as well as a “feminine international beauty.” Huh.

And according to the launch party details, “Whisky Saigon will set a new standard for Boston nightlife, featuring Funktion One surround sound” as well as “state of the art special effects and lux décor.” To take a look at some of the new club’s upcoming events, including parties and famous DJ’s, check out their events page here.

One thing’s for sure, Whisky Saigon’s trendy scene will certainly make an impression, and quite possible turn anti-nightclubbers into nightowls.
