As much as Boston loves to complain about “being single” – the fact of the matter is that we live in a pretty awesome city for mixing and mingling. At least, according to Rent.com’s recent study examining the best cities for singles in the U.S.

According to a source, the company looked at U.S. cities with more than 50,000 rental dwellings, a high concentration of single adults that were 20 years and older, and an overall population greater than 100,000. Several of the criteria considered included safety, nightlife activity, variety of dining, dining frequency and coffee shop density.

Boston came in as the fourth best city for singles – not bad, folks! According to the study, Boston happens to be a great place for bachelors and bachelorettes. Rent.com found that 33 percent of the adult population in Boston identify as single.

Rent.com also points out that Boston’s “frigid winters are a great excuse to curl up inside with a Sam Adams and watch Tom Brady lead the Pats to victory, while the summers feature fun activities like the SoWa Open Market.” Yes, this is true – in addition to the numerous restaurants, coffee shops and other date spots that Boston has to offer.
