Just livin’ the dream.

On the brink of one of the most romantic holidays of the year, people all over the city of Boston are scrambling for a date. But which gender has it easier when it comes to finding Valentine’s Day love– men or women?

Apparently, dudes have all the luck here in the Hub. According to a new study from NerdWallet, an online finance site for millennials, Boston ranks the no. 1 city in the nation for single men.

To determine the rankings, NerdWallet analyzed the ratio of unmarried men to unmarried women, the number of bars and gyms per 1,000 residents, the walkability of the city, the unemployment rate, and the price of a “cheap date,” which involves a movie ticket, 12-inch Pizza Hut pie and six-pack of Heineken. Data was gathered using NerdWallet’s Cost of Living Calculator and City Life Tool, among other infomartion.

While Boston didn’t necessarily boast the cheapest dates, we fared well for the lowest unemployment rate and walkability. Most importantly, though, there are only 93 unmarried Boston men for every 100 Boston women, meaning the bachelors have their fair pick of all the single ladies.

Women, on the other hand, have to battle for their men in Boston. Analyzing the same exact factors for the opposite gender, NerdWallet found that the Hub fell to 9th place as a suitable city for unmarried women, while San Francisco nabbed the spot as number one location for single women.

So, ladies, if you’re looking for a date this Valentine’s Day, you may want to grab a cheap plane ticket to the West Coast. Gentlemen, simply walk outside. Odds are, you’ll have no trouble finding someone to put a ring on it.
