We hope you’ve gotten your cheap beer and dive bar-fill this year because we’re sad to say – Daisy Buchanan’s will officially be closing next week. Last spring, we reported on the upcoming shuttering (via the Boston Herald) – and now it looks as though that closing is becoming a reality.

Sadly, the Boston Herald also reports that someone has actually stolen the Daisy’s sign from Daisy Buchanan’s. Was that really necessary, people? According to the article, the bar is offering a $500 reward for the return of the sign – no questions asked.

The rowdy watering hole, known for its early-twenties, beer-drinking crowd, will be closing after 44 years in business. According to an earlier report from the Boston Herald, owner Joe Cimino was “staring down a foreclosure auction for the 240A Newbury Street building and the adjoining property at 41 Fairfield St.” He ended up selling the restaurant space to UrbanMeritage this spring.

An earlier report does mention that Cimino is “in the process of seeking another home for the bar…” So, perhaps we could see another Daisy’s sometime in the future? In the meantime, grab your cheap beer pitchers while you still can at Daisy Buchanan’s on Newbury Street.

The Boston Herald article reports that the bar will close on either November 6 or November 7.
