Saying farewell to Charlie’s Sandwich Shoppe this year certainly wasn’t easy for loyal Turkey Hash-eating patrons. The iconic South End eatery, which closed back in June, fed both hungry Bostonians and celebrities, alike for over 87 years.

Now, according to the Boston Globe, it looks as though this Boston institution will reopen in 2015. The article reports that “Chef Evan Deluty, who runs Stella in the South End, is scheduled to pass papers on the beloved restaurant this week and hopes to reopen it in early 2015.”

Thankfully, it seems that the former Charlie’s Sandwich Shoppe breakfast and lunch menus “will remain unchanged, as will the location at 429 Columbus Ave,” according to the Boston Globe.

Charlie’s Sandwich Shoppe, which was run by the Manjourides family for over 87 years, was a local favorite. I think it’s safe to say we’re all looking forward to its reopening. In the meantime, relive the Charlie’s Sandwich Shoppe memories with these photographs compiled by the South End institution, here!
