Rise and shine, it’s breakfast time — well, soon enough anyway. This afternoon, the Brunch Club returns to GEM Italian Kitchen, Nightclub & Lounge, proving that girls really do just want to have fun. The restaurant will feature a special “Babes & Brunch” event, sure to be a treat for all the “ladies who brunch” (and for you mimosa fans out there).
The affair will feature a mimosa reception, gourmet candy bar, cupcakes, clothing and jewelry selections, mini makeovers and more — all starting at 2 p.m. and lasting until 4 p.m. But the brunch doesn’t stop at 4 o’clock. No, apparently the party is just getting started. Guests can stay at GEM for “Boston’s ultimate brunch party” while DJ Jeffrey Tonnessen spins some serious Sunday Funday party music. So get your week started off on the right dancing foot with this pumped up girly themed brunch.

Sunday, October 13. Doors open at 2 p.m. and the kitchen closes at 6 p.m. However, Babes & Brunch event lasts from 2 p.m. till 4 p.m.

What to Eat
Where do I even begin? The options posted on GEM’s brunch menu will make you glad you ventured downtown. And while the kitchen might not offer the typical breakfast foods, the late afternoon Italian brunch certainly won’t disappoint. I recommend their Chicken Parm Grinder with Tuscan Fries or the Breakfast Pizza with fried eggs.

The Brunch Buzz Drink
Obviously, the “Grand Mimosa.” From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the “female-focused affair” will include a mimosa reception, making this drink the official Brunch Buzz Drink of the day. GEM’s “Grand Mimosa” features Prosecco, OJ, and Grand Marnier = delish. And, if you’re not a mimosa kind of gal, the bar menu also includes other classics such as a Bellini, Margarita, Bloody Mary and Sangria.
