Sure, you’ve heard of pop-up restaurants and pop-up shops but have you heard of pop-up art galleries? Or, for that matter, a pop-up art gallery inside of a restaurant? I didn’t think so.

But starting this month, the Fort Point restaurant, Tavern Road, will be transforming itself into a temporary art studio one Sunday a month, for their “Studio Sundays” event.

There, you can “eat your art out,” as noted in a release, because the event will be a combination of culinary and visual arts for all to see (and taste). On the fourth Sunday of each month Tavern Road Street Foods (TavernRoad’s fast-casual lunch spot) will magically turn “into a high-energy gallery showcasing work from a local artist.”

And for those who like food (anyone?), there will be snacks available at the bar from 4 to 5 p.m. with the kitchen opening for dinner at 5 p.m.

The Studio series will start this Sunday, January 26 with Patt Kelley, a local illustrator/comic artist (and MassArt graduate) with a weekly comic strip in Dig Boston called “What’s For Breakfast?” Followed by artists, Natasha Moustache and Bill Phaneuf on the following Sundays.

So, start turning your Sundays into an eat and art event at the graffiti-laden space – where you can purchase and experience local masterpieces. The artist showcase will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
