Mayor Marty Walsh tipped his cap to Boston Public Works Wednesday morning, after crews spent Tuesday night hauling an impressive amount of snow off city streets.

The 1,500-load effort helped to widen the streets, particularly in South Boston, where L Street appears to look like passable.

Mayor Walsh also recognized Tuesday night snow removal efforts in Allston and Mattapan.

According to Boston Snow Stats, the city has been hit with 96.3 inches of snow this winter, which has required more than 174,000 hours and 285,000 miles of street plowing.
