Winter Storm Juno is expected to dump historic snowfall totals on Greater Boston and Massport isn’t taking any travel chances. Logan International Airport is rescheduling departure flights slated for 7:30 p.m. and later on Monday evening, Jan. 26.

Director of Aviation Edward Freni announced the schedule change at a press conference Monday morning. The news comes shortly after several airlines opted to waive change fees for people looking to fly around the winter weather.

BostInno reached out to Massport to gather more information about the scheduling changes but nobody was immediately available to comment.

According to the Boston Globethe rescheduling will pertain. to all flights in and out of Logan.

 

Juno is thought to drop anywhere between 20 and 30 inches of snow, potentially cracking the top five highest snowfall accumulations since the statistic began being recorded in 1892.

For people not taking to the skies, the MBTA already began its snow preparations in advance of the implement weather but spokesperson Joe Pesaturo told BostInno service is sure to be impacted.
