The best way to take a siesta from New England’s brutal winter is to indulge in some delicious Mexican food.  We’re talking the motherload of Mexican-American comfort foods: the burrito, rolled for you by Bostonian celebrities to support local charities.

Over the past year, Anna’s Taqueria has hosted celebrities as guest ‘Spoon Ninjas,’ rolling for a cause. Proceeds from the celeburritos went to their charity of choice, and by the end of 2013 Anna’s had helped raise and donate nearly $20,000.

In honor of this accomplishment, Anna’s will be bringing back their previous guests for a Celebrity Burrito Roller Showdown at their Brookline location on Monday, January 27, from 6 to 8 p.m.  The celeb alumni, once again representing their charity, compete for the coveted title of Celebrity Spoon Ninja. The winner will go on to roll for the rest of the night, and all proceeds will go to their charity.

Guests will feature Radio BDC host Henry Santoro, The Improper Bostonian’s Jonathan Soroff, Tiffani Faison of Bravo TV’s “Top Chef” and local restaurant Sweet Cheeks, @BostonTweet’s Tom O’Keefe, ballerina and food blogger Rachel Cossar and the Boston rock band Mean Creek.

Burritos will be $10 and served with the customary chips and salsa. Eat burritos for a good cause and cheer on your favorite competitor? Sounds like a great way to start off your week.

Though tickets are not mandatory for entry, you learn more about the event and let Anna’s know you’ll be going by visiting its Eventbrite page.
