Carbonite

Cambridge-based Carbonite, a leading provider of online backup services, has appointed Tom Murray as Vice President of Marketing. From the release:

“Murray brings more than 17 years of experience in building successful brands and marketing organizations in the consumer electronics and consumer packaged goods industries.  He most recently served as senior vice president of marketing for TomTom, Inc.  While at TomTom, he implemented the marketing strategies and campaigns that drove the substantial brand’s awareness and share growth in the North American market. These efforts helped the company grow its annual sales from $125 million to $500 million over his four-year tenure.”

Constant Contact

Waltham-based Constant Contact, the trusted marketing advisor to more than 400,000 small businesses and nonprofits worldwide, has appointed Rick W. Jensen to a newly created position of Senior Vice President, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer. From the release:

“Jensen, a former executive at Intuit®, GE Capital, and U.S. Bancorp, brings more than 20 years of consumer and small business marketing and sales experience to the company’s executive leadership team. Jensen will help to shape and execute Constant Contact’s plans to deliver the winning marketing formula for small business success through its suite of engagement marketing tools, including email marketing, event marketing, social media marketing, and online surveys. He will report to CEO Gail Goodman.”

NEI

Publicly traded NEI based in Canton Mass., a leading provider of server-based application platforms and lifecycle support services for software developers and OEMs worldwide, has appointed Austin Hipes as Vice President of Technology. From the release:

“Prior to his appointment as vice president, Hipes was director of technology at NEI, where he managed field applications engineers (FAEs) by supporting sales design activities and educating customers on hardware and other deployment trends.  With NEI since 2003, he has primarily focused on designing systems for network equipment providers that require carrier-grade solutions, and in his new position will continue to manage skills training for FAEs and act as technical interface for NEI’s technology partners.  Previously, he was director of technology at Alliance Systems and field applications engineer for Arrow Electronics and Wyle Electronics.”

Nuance

Burlington-based Nuance, the leading provider of voice and language solutions for businesses and consumers, has appointed Bill Nelson as Executive Vice President, Worldwide Sales. From the release:

“Bill Nelson brings to Nuance a history of sales achievement through more than 30 years of executive leadership in sales operations, business development, and market and channel expansion. He joins Nuance from Sungard Availability Services where he was executive vice president of North American Sales. Previously, he was executive vice president of Global Sales at Nortel Networks; senior vice president at EMC; and president of Lucent’s Service Provider Networks and Softswitch business units. Mr. Nelson also had a distinguished career at AT&T where he held a number of executive roles in sales, marketing and business development.”

OnForce

Boston-based OnForce, a venture-backed technology company that is the #1 source for on-site tech talent in field services throughout the US and Canada, has appointed Robert Andrews as Vice President of Technology. From the release:
