Here in Boston, we’re no stranger to unique beer flavors. In fact, we enjoy tasting the different types of brews that pop up throughout the various seasons. From cherry and blackberry to pumpkin and gingerbread flavors, we tried them all. Well, almost all.

It looks as though a North Carolina Brewery, Catawba Valley Brewing Co., is now creating a beer that tastes like our favorite childhood (and adult) lunch – Peanut Butter and Jelly. Ah, the memories.

From the sound of it, the beer is certainly appealing and (hopefully) tasty. According to Catawba Brewing Co., the “light brown ale is brewed from five different grains and then aged for weeks on raspberries and roasted peanuts.” It’s described as a “PB&J in a glass” – yes please.

The innovative beer has been making plenty of headlines lately. FoodBeast.com states that the beer is “meant to recreate the ‘childhood goodness’ of mom-packed school lunches, perfect for your weekly existential crisis/nostalgia binge.”

And given that I’ll never grow tired of childhoold loves like PB&J sandwiches, oreos and Capri Suns, I’m pretty sure I’m going to like this beer a lot. The PB&J beer will be released in NC for a limited time – but we’re hoping it eventually makes its way up to New England. If not, we’ll have to bring some back soon.

Cheers!
